Hey there, I'm Katherine!
I'm a Japanese portrait photographer in Bellevue, Redmond, and Seattle, WA.
How it started
Although I’ve only had my camera since June of 2023, I have had moments where I had the chance to touch a camera, thanks to my best friend. Since high school, we would occasionally go on photoshoots around the neighborhood. During those sessions, she would bring her father's camera, which we used to take photos of each other. Since we both didn’t know anything about the camera, we would just press the button. However, those moments are what made me highly interested in photography.
Fast forward to about 10 years later, I finally got a camera and have enjoyed every memory I have captured. Photography is such an important part of my life and I'm glad I'm able to feel this way.
A few fun facts about me:
• I love RADWIMPS and Yonezu Kenshi! Their music has been with me since high school. My dream is to see them perform together (and maybe photograph them someday!)
• I became a huge Pokémon fan as an adult and now I’m fully obsessed—most nights I’m playing Pokémon UNITE or the TCG
• I grew up attending both an American school and a Japanese school on weekends
• I’ve loved Japanese dramas since I was a kid and am always watching something new
• I love eating natto—if I had to eat one thing for the rest of my life, it would be natto and rice
• I’m a plant parent! I love seeing their growth everyday
• Since moving to Washington, the thing I miss most about California is In-N-Out
When I was finally able to attend a RADWIMPS concert after dreaming of the day for 8 years!
Meaning of Bloomii Memories?
You might be wondering about the double “i” in Bloomii. It can be read as “ee” (いい) in Japanese, which means “good.” In that sense, Bloomii Memories represents the idea of capturing and creating good, meaningful moments as they unfold.
There’s also a second meaning within the name—“bloom me.” My goal is to capture you in your element, like a flower in bloom, expressing yourself naturally and authentically.
